Creativity
Meets Possibility

Arts for All celebrates everyone’s creativity. We connect disciplines, create opportunities for arts-based research and activate artistic experiences at UMD and beyond.
Seven performers in vibrant costumes strike joyful, expressive poses across the stage in a production of "for colored girls," with arms outstretched in celebration against rich red curtains. A striking sunburst lighting sculpture radiates behind them as the dramatic focal point. The cast wears an array of colorful outfits including yellow, red, purple, and earth tones, capturing the show's powerful emotional journey.
A large projection screen displays three silhouetted figures floating against a luminous orb surrounded by swirling blue, purple, and pink nebula-like clouds in an immersive NextNOW Fest installation titled "You Are Light And Cabbage." Rows of theater seating face the dramatic cosmic imagery. The ethereal digital artwork creates a dreamlike atmosphere exploring themes of lightness and transformation.
Kibel GalleryAn exhibition titled "Lines of Inquiry" displays architectural drawings and maps across multiple presentation formats, with framed works mounted on the wall above and illuminated viewing tables below. The symmetrical gallery installation features varied frame styles from black to wood tones. The angled viewing tables on wire legs invite close examination of detailed technical drawings and historical documents.
A person holds up a smartphone to photograph an immersive light installation at NextNOW Fest's Grand Pavilion, with cascading turquoise, purple, and white illuminated orbs filling the darkened space. The phone screen captures the mesmerizing display of glowing spheres. The interactive moment shows how visitors document and engage with the enchanting digital light environment.
